Day 1: Journey tales

So, Spain is proper beautiful! I don't think I've ever seen so many hills all together though...! It was quite a worry, given what's to come. Here's some pictures from the drive from Santander to San Sebastián. 

 

The ferry was a little delayed, so we arrived at San Sebastián at around 4.30, and were ready to set off at around 5pm, after I held the boys up taking photos

 

 

 

And then they were off! I arranged to meet them at a tiny town called Ezkurra. I passed hardly any other cars at all driving through the hair pin bends going up and down the hills. The Spanish drivers seem very considerate, from what I've seen so far.

I arrived in Pamplona only about 50 minutes before the boys, but had a lot of accommodation and car admin to sort out. Everyone's here now so we're just getting ready to go out for dinner. No one has had a proper lunch yet either...

We decided to book an apartment tonight, as we knew we'd arrive late. We're hoping to set off around 9am tomorrow as we're all obviously tired from starting so late. After that it will be much earlier starts.
